I have been known to frequent a local Korean BBQ place that serves what is known as “Galbi”. According to Wikipedia Galbi is marinated beef (or pork) short ribs. It is also known as bulgabi when cooked over fire. Of course this would be something that I would have to try at home.

So off to the local meat market I go in search of the perfect short ribs. In this dish they typically use short ribs that have been sliced very thinly, so to find short ribs already sliced in this fashion, I head to the local Asian market. After locating the thinly sliced short ribs I proceed to marinate the ribs in a Korean style BBQ sauce. I used the CJ brand pictured to your right.
After marinating for two hours in the refrigerator, it is time to fire up my Weber grill to a fiery 450 degrees. You want to cook these hot & fast so as to cook the outside without overcooking the inside (remember these are very thin).
These are shown here with some red bell peppers that I sliced and am grilling with the Galbi.
Now add some blooming chives (also picked up at Asian market)
It is time to plate. I have added some basmati rice and some fresh red pepper & Thai basil salsa on the
side. With some Korean BBQ Sauce drizzled over the top
